The entrance to Tomorrow Land! Hurray!!
Hopefully the bunny doesn't conjure up too many images and feelings form your childhood. :-)
Up until the 3:51 minute mark, this guy is dead on! It did strike me that the "W" actually was great for G.W. 43. Too bad the execution sucked! Cue sad trombone track: *Wah-Wah-Waaaah*.
See how Liberals create engaging, memorable design here.

Racism. Alive and w-e-e-e-e-ll ...
Ever notice who is always looking at race(and gender, etc)? Am I missing something, or is it liberals--like Maureen Dowd(of The New York Times), Jimmy Carter(D), Rep. Hank Johnson(D), David Ehrenstein, Henry Louis Gates(Had it been a black or a Hispanic policeman who arrested Gates would he have been crying racism? Hardly! It’s because the cop was white that Gates charged him with being a racist.) and finally the "wise Latina woman", Sonia Sotomayor(I)? Don't get me wrong; I'm sure they started out with good intentions, but (like most liberal ideas) they just don't work.A Tough Nut to Crack?
Apparently not. James O'Keefe went in as your stereotypical pimp(I can't believe Acorn missed this guy; all he was missing was the feathered wide-brim hat!) and exposed their corruption. The U.S. Senate just voted yesterday to deny housing and community grant funding(your and my tax dollars) to ACORN.Way to go, James! And thanks to FOX for actually covering this!
And O'Keefe is right, journalism is dead. We must do it.

Scary, "White", Gun-Toting, Racist Protesters
Wait a minute. It's a "man-of-color"/black man carrying the gun -- who, by-the-way, has an awesome mustache!(see video below) I don't hear any anger about the president being black. The only people talking about his race?: Liberals! msnbc = liar.
Hey lady, why are you accosting this guy!? Go read the 2nd Amendment!
P.S. That's a SEMI-automatic firearm that lets the user discharge at about the same rate as any pistol you'd see a police officer carrying.

Giving the Gov't the Finger
I'm thinking of getting a CCW(Carry of a Concealed Weapon) permit. However, the govt want's my fingerprints and I don't think I want the govt having them. And I wondered why I felt this way; I have nothing to hide. Eventually I thought to myself, "Why does govt need my prints when getting a CCW permit? Fingerprints make me think of committing crimes (like robbery). I have a bit of a problem with this:Isn’t it law-abiding citizens who get CCW permits not criminals? Who do you think are going to be committing crimes thugs or CCW permit holders? If I've obtained a CCW, why do you suppose I got one? To defend myself? Or to rob somebody? I’m carrying for self-defense, dammit!
I’m no forensics expert, but as far as I’ve been able to gather from the movies is, the only reason you'd need to dust for prints is at the scene of a home or business where a crime has been committed, right? If someone is looking to commit some armed crimes, they sure as hell don’t need a CCW permit!
Its not the thugs & criminals who are getting CCW licenses; its the law-abiding citizens who are getting CCW permits using their gun for protection(in public, mind you).

Armed & Dangerous Defending Us
While on vacation a few weeks ago, I had an interesting conversation with my sister’s BF. He seems like an amiable bloke (from my interactions with him). I really like him. During chit-chat we started talking about guns(maybe b/c I’d just taken a CCW course about a week before). We disagree somewhat about whether or not people should be allowed to carry a firearm in public(concealed or not).
He was pretty uneasy about folks carrying guns in public.
But I’m not. And after talking with him a while longer, I think I came to the proper conclusion as to why we each thought the way we did.
He lives and works in the ghettos of Akron, OH. So when he thinks of someone carrying a gun, he pictures a thug.
I live in one of the nicest ‘burbs of Denver CO, so when I think of someone carrying a gun, I’m picturing a pretty good guy looking to protect himself and others.
Who do you think is going to be carrying openly or getting a Concealed Carry Permit? A guy looking to rob someone? Or a guy looking out for himself(and possibly others)? Hint: You don’t need a CCP to rob someone and I doubt you’ll see Tupac with a sidearm in a holster on his hip.

Unhelpful Help
I really like Rudy Carrasco's comments.
I also like what the Rev. Nunes said about work, responsibility, and dignity. From what I’ve heard, the Salvation Army actually requires something of the people they help. As Jesus healed people and said “sin no more”, so the Salvation Army requires that one must stay clean(no drug usage or alcohol) in order to receive sustenance, residence, financial help, etc.
Some interesting stats I’ve heard—from my SIL(a very reliable source on all things):
$25k a year is spent per student in US schools, but kids still need more textbooks because theirs are falling apart. Where is all of that $ going!?
By 1930 91% of the poor in the U.S. were taken care of by private charities but for some reason(Power maybe!?) the govt still felt the need to step in.
I'd be interested to know exactly what those poverty expenditures, mentioned in the vid, are?

The Missing Link
Here it is in all it's glory! Isn't it cute? There is so much religion and politics around evolutions v.s. creation, and based on past claims(Wasn't there something about a pig-skull a few years ago that scientist claimed was the missing link?), I'm cautiously open.A team of researchers Tuesday unveiled an almost perfectly intact fossil of [what some scientist believe to be] a 47 million-year-old primate they say represents the long-sought missing link between humans and apes.
Officially known as Darwinius masillae, the fossil of the lemur-like creature dubbed Ida shows it had opposable thumbs like humans and fingernails instead of claws.
Scientists say the cat-sized animal's hind legs offer evidence of evolutionary changes that led to primates standing upright - a breakthrough that could finally confirm Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.
If you are interested in evolution or creation or the debate, I recommend talking to John Holzmann or Patrick Ewing. Ok not Pat, but John knows a ton!

Bread and Circuses! Hurray!
"The America of my time line is a laboratory example of what can happen to democracies, what has eventually happened to all perfect democracies throughout all histories. A perfect democracy, a "warm body" democracy in which every adult may vote and all votes count equally, has no internal feedback for self-correction.... [O]nce a state extends the franchise to every warm body, be he producer or parasite, that day marks the beginning of the end of the state. For when the plebs discover that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the body politic cannot stop them, they will do so, until the state bleeds to death, or in its weakened condition the state succumbs to an invader – the barbarians enter Rome."– Robert A Heinlein

Obama's Web Campaign
A quick word from the guy behind the Obama web campaign. Brilliant! But not rocket science. Any organization CAN do this. The question is WILL they? Will they see the value in it?

Take Action! Write your Congressman!
It sounds so easy we've all heard it if we've ever had an issue:
"Write your Congressman!"
Finally!; there's an easy way to do it!
Visit the links below and type in your 5-digit zip code. If you live in a heavily-populated area, you may need to include the additional 4 digits in order to pinpoint your member of Congress.
To write your Senator(top right corner)
www.senate.gov
To write your State Rep(top left corner)
www.house.gov
To write the President
www.whitehouse.gov/contact
OR
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
OR call
1-202-456-1111
These sites prompt you right through the process! It's pretty slick. Who'd have guess the gov't would make anything as easy as this?
For a successful letter to your Congressman
While many people rely on emails more and more these days, often writing a letter to your senator or representative is an even more effective way to make your voice heard by Congress. A letter takes time and money to write, stamp, and post, so it sends a strong signal on the importance of an issue to the constituent(You!).
1. Keep the letter brief and to the point.
2. Support your position with facts.
3. Focus on one topic at a time.
4. End your letter by asking for a response from your representative or senator.
5. If the matter is urgent, you should consider faxing your letter to their Washington, DC office for issues needing action within a week. If you do not have access to a fax machine, you can hand-deliver your letter to your member of Congress' local district or Washington, D.C. office.
6. Getting everyone you know to do the same is just as powerful as writing the letter yourself.
Thanks John!

The Strength of 10 Men!
Our tax dollars hard at work here in CO. Jeez, give me that dang shovel and let me show you how to use it! I wish I’d have been able to catch a video to film just how still they were standing. You don’t quite get the effect with a still shot. I think 4 of them were actually walking – to somewhere they didn’t need to be from somewhere they should have been.

Oh man! I almost forgot! Happy Earff Day!
I thought Limbaugh was making this kind of thing up. But these people actually exist. I think I've said, I'm all about being efficient and conserving(I'm a bit of a minimalist — even when it comes to design), but cm'on this is ridiculous. A buddy of mine wondered if "Man-made Global Warming/Climate Change" could be the biggest hoax since the Earth being considered flat?

Happy 420 Day! (Please, Nobody Go Psycho)
I'm no hippie – or druggie. I simply believe that the government should stay our of our lives. If someone wants to smoke "the marijuana", so what? What business is it of yours or mine? Now, if that person harms me, then it's my business. And if all that person is doing is getting brain damage, that's his/her choice. Just, don't make me pay for his MedicAid because that person is too stoned to get a job.

Conservative Design (I know, it's a new concept)
Do liberals have a corner on creativity?I'm finding that not only are a lot of Conservative messages difficult to muddle through, a lot of design done for certain operations only reinforce the stereotype that they are out of touch and irrelevant. Don't be one of them.
When I compare organizations, I see a big difference in the area of creativity, communication(layout), professionalism, and most of all – branding.
I think in the coming generation that, unless you can clearly and succinctly state your case, you will fail. Get to the point fast. Use your branding elements; and if you don't have consistent branding elements established, get them!
"There are organizations doing great things, but they just don't know how to say it!"

Capitalism Screwing Capitalists
I never thought I'd hear myself(as someone who believes in capitalism) say this, but I think the competitive spirit might be getting in the way of Capitalism. Can we please unite already? Under the few causes we believe in? I know it's kind of Socialistic/Marxist and all but...Until we do this, do you think we might be duplicating our efforts here?Take this Tea Party deal for instance. Why are there so many different websites up? It seems like everyone and their Native American buddy has thrown one up. Which one do I go to? Which one is the real deal? teapartyday.com? taxdayteaparty.com? And for crying out loud, those two were in the same article in World. And there's this one. Who knows how many more are out there. Tea Partiers, I wish you well.

Earff Hour
"We look forward to great things before it's done."What? What kinds of "great things" is Jim talking about? Dang it, Jim. I'm only a designer. Woo a stadium turned its lights out. Looks to me like a lot of theses city lights don't need to be on in the first place, so it really wasn't as dramatic as I was thinking it was gonna be. The only "big thing" I can see happening is a bunch of hippies making babies for an hour (Please, Lord – I hope you all used condoms!) Oh, and our energy bills going up b/c the power companies lost $. Are you serious?– Jim Leape
